2006 Israel Experience
Scholarship Programs & Applications

Every study that has been undertaken over the past 25 years on Jewish demographic trends relating to adult involvement in Jewish life has shown conclusively that the Israel experience, have been determined to be significant factors in the development of our youth, and absolutely critical to Jewish continuity in the 21st century. According to the studies, those who have participated in this kind of program report that the experiences influenced both their identification as Jews, and their involvement in Jewish communal and religious activities in later years.

In response, the Jewish Federation of Northeastern Pennsylvania has set aside funds from the 2006 Annual Federation/UJA Annual Campaign for Fiscal Year 2005-2006 to provide scholarships for Middle School to High School Jewish students who reside within the jurisdiction of the Jewish Federation of Northeastern Pennsylvania. While the guidelines for each set of scholarships are quite distinct, both are now open to qualifying Jewish students in Pike, Wayne and Monroe Counties as well as Scranton and Lackawanna County.
