The HERC is grateful and proud to have received grant awards from prestigious organizations. These include:
- The Scranton Area Foundation
- The Margaret Briggs Foundation
- The Kaplan Family Foundation
- The Gelb Foundation
- The PA Holocaust Education Task Force
- The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts/ Pennsylvania Humanities Council.

These grants have helped to fund a broad variety of programs over the years: In-Service days for teachers at the Northeast Educational Intermediate Unit, major schools programs, special performances, and arts-in education related school and community programs.

Two scholarships enabling local teachers to attend the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Shippensburg Conference on "Teaching the Lessons of the Holocaust" were awarded through the generosity of the local Jewish War Veterans and another donor. Such generosity has a ripple effect when one considers the numbers of students touched by each teacher.

In 1996, the HERC received a one-time grant from the Scranton Area Foundation for teacher-training,as well as praise for how the terms of that grant were fulfilled. The grant enabled us to co-sponsor a major In-Service day at the Northeast Education Intermediate Unit and provide highly qualified presenters from the Holocaust Education Task Force.
